The Maestro of Mushrooms, the guy who put the fun back into foraging for fungus, triumphantly returns to The Higher Haven on Saturday, September 14th, leading a full-day nature walk and foraging workshop that will culminate in the kitchen with wild snacks and other culinary delights.

Enjoy a very hands-on, in-forest introduction to mushrooms as we hunt local edibles — on the lookout for Black Trumpets, Boletes, both Chicken and Hen of the Woods, Lion’s Mane, Oyster Mushrooms and more — followed by a presentation on mushroom hunting, harvesting, preservation techniques and tips on cooking. Learn how to find, clean, and cook mushrooms, as well as preserve them, store them and more!
